“I am a Danish-inspired, clothing-loving, and sometimes intense person who loves strolling around the city just to observe. I would describe myself as someone who is generous with myself. I enjoy starting my mornings with a coffee on my way to work, surrounding myself with warm and genuine people, and having cozy lunches with those I love. Great food experiences are something I truly live for, and after becoming a mother, the joy of discovering new tastes has become even more meaningful. In my art, I mainly create my “ladies,” female sculptures in different designs, as well as napkin rings, vases, and colourful hooks. On my Instagram, I describe it simply: “I create ladies and other fun stuff,” because that’s exactly what I do. My process is often sparked by a feeling or a passing inspiration, and I let that guide me. I love that there’s a playfulness and a slightly abstract imperfection in what I make. Over time, that has become my unique expression, emotional, intuitive, and very much my own. When I worked on my collaboration with HOTEL TWWP, I put my focus into bowls. I’ve always made cups and bowls for my home, and I love using them every day, whether it’s for food, keys, jewelry, or anything else. For this collection, I could dedicate more time and creativity to larger bowls that had a real purpose. I wanted to play with glazes I love, layering butter yellow, soft pink, and deep brown shades together. I like when the colours melt into each other in ways I can’t fully predict, so opening the kiln always feels like a surprise. The bowls are a bit chunky, with a weight I really enjoy holding in my hands, and the colour combinations turned out just the way I hoped, vibrant and warm, but still balanced. My inspiration comes from everywhere. I’m very observant, so it might be a picture on Instagram, an outfit I see, the window of a bookstore, or something in a shop display. With the bowls, I’ve been building on an expression that I like and slowly developing it further each time I create. The creative thrill usually comes as soon as I step into my studio. I often wait until I feel the urge to go there, with at least a sense of where I want to begin, even if I don’t know how it will end. Since becoming a mother, I haven’t had as much time in the studio, and I miss it deeply, but the hours I do get there feel even more precious. I often listen to podcasts while I work and disappear into the process, time never goes by as quickly as it does when I’m in my studio, and I love that space with all my heart. Music is another big part of my life. I’ve always loved soul and funk, and my playlists are filled with a mix of 70s and 80s classics along with contemporary artists. Anthony Hamilton is one of my favourites, and I also listen to Italian artists like Tiziano Ferro, a few songs from the Swedish TV show Så Mycket Bättre, and Dolly Parton after hearing a documentary about her. Right now, some songs I keep coming back to are Do You Feel Me by Anthony Hamilton, Dance Tonight by Lucy Pearl, and Mad by Solange. Honestly, it’s impossible for me to narrow it down to just three favourites, I always end up adding more. Art, food, music, and the people I love all weave into each other in my life. Creating, observing, and surrounding myself with soulful, genuine experiences keeps me inspired every day.“
